IRVING,
Texas. - August 12, 2002. Spatial Data Inc. today announced that
it has released Version 2.1 of Risk Mitigation Pro (RiskMitPro).
RiskMitPro v2.1 enables insurance organizations to quickly and efficiently
understand the risks involved in issuing new policies based on existing
insured locations, thereby making the underwriting decision more
accurate and timely while tightly limiting adverse selection.
RiskMitPro v2.1 includes new features that add customer-requested
functionality. One of the new features included is the capability
to generate standardized grids representing storm tracks. This enables
the underwriter to thematically show where risks are overexposed
in order to minimize risk and to illustrate where risks are underexposed
so as to maximize profit. In addition, the ability to show ad hoc
catastrophe summaries over historical storm tracks has been added.
This allows the underwriter to generate "what if" scenarios
for potential damage and also respond quickly to specific disasters
immediately.
"We are very pleased to offer this new functionality to our
insurance clients," said Scott DiGiacinto, Vice President.
"We believe this new functionality in RiskMitPro v2.1 will
help our customers in their development of a more efficient and
profitable organization. Currently, technology in RiskMitPro includes
Oracle 9i , Oracle Spatial , MapInfo MapXtreme ,
MapMarker Java and MapMarker Plus .
