Spatial Data Selected to Provide PSAP Location Data for Wingcast Telematics Service

IRVING, TX., Jan. 2, 2002 - Spatial Data, formerly Public Safety Associates, Inc., today announced that Wingcast, LLC, a company founded by Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) and QUALCOMM (Nasdaq: QCOM) the nation's foremost provider of PSAP-based location data, has selected Spatial Data to deliver PSAP Pro Database and Boundary File for the Wingcast service that launches next year. Wingcast's initial telematics service will include hands-free, high-speed data and voice services ,and will be available in certain Ford and Nissan vehicles.

Wingcast will be using PSAP Pro™ boundary data to accurately and efficiently routing E911 calls to the appropriate Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) to dispatch emergency personnel based on the caller's location. The PSAP Pro boundary data includes 10-digit emergency numbers, address information, administrative phone number, fax number, contact person, latitude and longitude and jurisdictional boundaries. PSAP Pro is continually verified by MapInfo and Spatial Data researchers who add new information by contacting PSAPs directly on a daily basis -- making PSAP Pro the most accurate and current database available in the U.S.
